Gene Ontology
This web page was produced as an assignment for Genetics 564, an undergraduate capstone course at UW-Madison.
What is Gene Ontology?
Gene ontology is composed of 3 parts:

What is the Gene Ontology of VHL?
Cellular Component
Molecular Function
Biological Process
VHL is prodominantly found in the cytoplasm. However, it is also found in the nucleus, mitochondrion and endoplasmic reticulum.
VHL is involved in ubiquitin-protein transferase activity, ubiquitin protein ligase activity, transcription factor binding and protein binding.
VHL is involved in cell morphogenesis, proteolysis, protein ubiquitination, protein stabilization, negative regulation of cell proliferation and apoptotic process and positive regulation of cell differentiation and transcription.
